Paradiso Palawan: Day 4 - El Nido Town Proper

On our last day in El Nido, we left Bucana around 7AM so that we could still stroll around the town proper. On the way there, I cant help but feel a little bit sad that we are leaving El Nido. There were so much to see and experience there and I cant get enough of it. 

The town itself has its own charm: small paved streets which I think will be nice for strolling; Bacuit Bay where most of the boats are ported and resto bars are lined up by the shoreline; establishments offering accommodation, island hopping tours and massage; shops with snorkeling and diving equipment for rent or sale and of course souvenir shops.

Before we go shopping, we had breakfast at this place called V and V Bagel: it was quaint, homey and smelled of coffee. They offer breakfast food (bagel, pancakes etc.), burgers, pizza and pasta, pastries and my favorite..."real"coffee! And by that I mean espresso and freshly brewed ones hehe..

We all ordered pancakes and to my surprise they served each of us one HUGE pancake...it was my first time to have a pancake that big haha. They smelled heavenly and of course I paired mine with a hot cup of cappuccino. Yum!

For your souvenir and pasalubong shopping needs, you don't need to worry. The town has many shops that you hop from one shop to another. Prices of the souvenirs vary though depending on size, materials used and artistry.

After shopping, Kuya Buknoy took us to this hill that is overlooking the islands of El Nido such as Helicopter Island. The wind was strong and it was a bit foggy but we still enjoyed the view. After 20 minutes or so, it already started to rain that we took shelter in a nearby sari-sari store.

To complete our El Nido experience, we decided to take the bus going back to Puerto Princesa. Fare is Php 295.00 per pax which is way cheaper than van transfers. However, travel time by bus is longer; it took us almost 8 hours to reach Puerto Princesa. Good thing we weren't in a hurry, but you might want to consider that if you have a tight schedule.

After we have settled at our new place, Nelly's Nipa Hut, we had dinner at Ugong Rock.

Paradiso Palawan: Day 2 - Nacpan and Calitang Twin Beach

 "Welcome to Fhloston Paradise!", nah, just kidding hehe. For Day 2 of our Palawan trip, since the weather is nice, we decided to go to the beautiful Nacpan and Calitang Beach. Before we left, Kuya Buknoy gave us some coconut. It was as if its his welcome drink for us, lovely!

 Because public transportation is difficult in El Nido, we hired Kuya Buknoy's tap-down (sort of improvised tricycle) to take us to Nacpan. It costs us Php 800.00 for all four us for the whole day. Not bad J

We didn't pay for an entrance fee or parking fee in Nacpan. Although, you will find this small hut called Kyla's Cocina where you can rent a cottage for Php 300.00 and they even serve food. Since its already lunch, we ordered Buttered Shrimps, Chopsuey and Fish Adobo. For the food, it only costed us Php 150.00 each. I can't live without my Coke so I ordered one and its a whopping Php 50.00!

 After a hearty lunch, we decided to climb the hill so we can view both Nacpan and Calitang.
It was a hot 10-15 minute climb but it was fun and all worth it.

The other side/view of the sea was as a amazing as seeing the twin beach. 
It was an almost endless water and view of other islands from afar.

We spent the whole afternoon exploring the beach and swimming. Although I love to travel, I am not that much a fan of beaches; I hate the sharp stones, the icky feeling of grass/weeds on my feet. However, I really enjoyed Nacpan. I was feeling like a child at the beach for the first time. 

There were a lot of foreigners and local tourists there, and a lot was still arriving even late that afternoon. They say that the sunset view  there was breathtaking but we failed to witness it since we need to head back home. No worries though, that will be a great excuse to go back and marvel at its wonder J
